SCHOOL Platform โ Acceptable Use Policy

1. Purpose
This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") defines the rules governing how you may use the SCHOOL Platform. By using the Platform you agree to this AUP. Violations may result in suspension or termination of your account.
2. Permitted Uses
You may use the Platform to:
- Study curriculum-aligned learning content for personal academic improvement;
- Practise past papers and review marked attempts;
- Interact with the AI study assistant for educational purposes;
- Book and attend tutoring sessions with registered tutors;
- Participate in community discussion rooms for academic support;
- Manage your personal study planner and academic schedule.
3. Prohibited Uses
3.1 Academic Dishonesty
You may not use the Platform to:
- Submit AI-generated answers to formal school assessments as your own work where your school prohibits such use (check your institution's AI policy);
- Share past paper solutions with others in a manner that facilitates cheating in formal assessments;
- Access restricted examination content ahead of formal release;
- Assist others in academic dishonesty.
SCHOOL promotes legitimate study practice. We are not responsible for disciplinary actions imposed by schools or examination bodies arising from a user's misuse of Platform content.
3.2 Illegal Activity
You may not use the Platform to:
- Engage in any activity that violates South African law or the law of your jurisdiction;
- Distribute, sell, or otherwise commercialise DBE past papers, CAPS materials, or SCHOOL content without authorisation;
- Circumvent geographic access restrictions or payment controls;
- Engage in money laundering or financial fraud through the wallet system.
3.3 Harmful Content
You may not post or transmit content that:
- Is defamatory, harassing, threatening, or discriminatory on grounds of race, gender, religion, disability, sexual orientation, or any other ground prohibited by the Promotion of Equality and Prevention of Unfair Discrimination Act 4 of 2000;
- Is sexually explicit or pornographic;
- Depicts violence or glorifies harm;
- Targets minors in any inappropriate way.
3.4 Privacy and Data
You may not:
- Share another person's personal information without their consent;
- Scrape, harvest, or aggregate personal information from the Platform;
- Impersonate another user, SCHOOL staff member, or any third party;
- Attempt to identify, de-anonymise, or contact other users outside the Platform's messaging system for purposes other than legitimate tutoring.
3.5 Technical Interference
You may not:
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Platform or its infrastructure;
- Conduct denial-of-service attacks, penetration testing, or security scanning against the Platform without SCHOOL's written consent;
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Platform software;
- Introduce malware, viruses, or malicious code;
- Use automated bots, scripts, or scrapers to interact with the Platform.
3.6 Tutor Marketplace Abuse
You may not:
- Book tutoring sessions with no intention of attending;
- Submit false disputes or ratings;
- Attempt to route payments for tutoring services outside the Platform to circumvent SCHOOL's commission;
- Use the tutor messaging system for spam or commercial solicitation unrelated to tutoring.
4. Content Standards
All content you submit must:
- Be truthful and not misleading;
- Comply with applicable copyright law (see the Copyright and Content Policy);
- Be appropriate for a platform used by students of all ages from Grade R (approximately 5 years) through Grade 12 (approximately 18 years).
5. Tutor-Specific Standards
Tutors must additionally:
- Hold genuine qualifications relevant to the subjects they offer;
- Not make false claims about qualifications or experience;
- Treat all learners with respect regardless of their academic level;
- Maintain professional conduct during sessions;
- Comply with all applicable laws regarding the provision of educational services to minors.
6. Reporting Violations
If you observe content or behaviour that violates this AUP, report it to: support@school.ditshego-ventures.co.za or use the in-platform report function.
7. Consequences of Violation
Violations of this AUP may result in:
- Content removal;
- Warning issued to your account;
- Temporary suspension;
- Permanent account termination;
- Forfeiture of wallet credits without refund (for fraud or abuse);
- Referral to law enforcement where required by law.
SCHOOL will apply these consequences proportionately and in accordance with the Terms of Service.
